Gainr ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Gainr you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
- Account data: email address, username, and authentication identifiers.
- Profile data: age, height, weight, activity level, dietary restrictions, and goals you provide.
- Usage data: food logs, weight logs, posts, comments, likes, and app interactions.
- Device data: device type, OS version, and crash diagnostics needed to operate the app.
We use third-party service providers for authentication, database hosting, and app analytics to operate the service. We do
not collect data from third-party advertising networks and we do
not sell your data.
3. Google User Data
When you sign in with Google, we access your email address and basic profile information (name) solely to create and authenticate your account. We do not sell, share, or use Google user data for advertising or AI model training. Google user data is stored securely and is subject to the same retention and deletion policies described in this Privacy Policy. To request deletion of your data, email support@gainrapp.com.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Operate core features such as calorie tracking, progress, and the community feed.
- Personalize calorie and macro targets.
- Maintain safety, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- Communicate important account or service changes.
5. User-Generated Content & Safety
The Crew tab allows you to post text content visible to other users. To comply with Apple's guidelines for user-generated content, we provide:
- An automated content filter that blocks profanity, slurs, and obvious obfuscations.
- The ability to report any post, comment, or user for review.
- The ability to block abusive users so you no longer see their content.
- The ability to delete your own posts and comments at any time.
We review reports and act on objectionable content and abusive users within 24 hours, which may include removing content and suspending the offending account.
6. Sharing of Information
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the app (such as authentication and database hosting), and only as needed to deliver the service. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users' safety.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support; we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
8. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. EU/UK users have additional rights under GDPR; California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. To exercise any right, email us at the address below.
9. Children
Gainr is not intended for users under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us so we can delete the account.

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
